• This Web-Site is intended for use by National and International level Athletes, National Associations and Federations, Coaches, Trainers and anyone seeking information on Anti-Doping matters as they relate to The Bahamas.

It has become an established fact that many of the recent doping violations were as a result of the use of substances contained in medications, supplements and energy drinks, which are readily available for purchase over-the-counter.  The basic framework for the Commission’s work is to protect the athlete’s fundamental right to participate in doping-free sport and thus promote health, fairness and equality for athletes nationwide.  We plan to achieve this through a series of training and education programmes, under the theme of “CLEAN SPORTS”, which should put the Athlete in control by making it easy for them to check if any drug/medication or supplement is on the prohibited list.

There will be ongoing updates to the information contained in this Web-site, so we encourage all interested groups and individuals to refer regularly to this Site, if there are any doubts or questions on any matter relating to Anti-Doping.

Additionally, we encourage any Athlete who may be aware of either a doping violation or an attempt at doping to notify the Commission in confidence by contacting us at the Commission’s office via telephone or email.  Any information received will be handled in strict confidence.
