The Bahamas Anti-Doping Commission (BADC) hosted an engaging and informative educational session on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Betty Kelly-Kenning Aquatic Center. The session, led by Executive Director Petra Haven and assisted by Doping Control Manager Dominic Laing, brought together athletes, coaches, and parents from the Mako Aquaticsand Alpha Aquatics swim clubs to deepen their understanding of anti-doping regulations and the importance of clean sports.
Attendees participated in discussions covering key topics, including the doping control process, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), protocols for traveling athletes, and the ethical responsibilities of competing drug-free. The interactive session provided valuable insights, ensuring that all participants are well-informed about global anti-doping standards.
“The Bahamas Anti-Doping Commission remains committed to educating our athletes, coaches, and support personnel about the importance of fair competition,” said Petra Haven. “It was a pleasure to engage with these young swimmers and their families, equipping them with the knowledge needed to uphold the principles of clean sport.”
The session was both educational and engaging, reinforcing the significance of integrity in athletics while fostering an open dialogue between the Commission and the local swimming community.
